A short, simple buttoned jacket with small shawl collar. It can be made with a single layer of fabric and bias trim as a cardigan, or 2 layers as a jacket (one side of optional brick piecing) with the edges of the jacket seamed or trimmed with bias. Finished length 22½"

3¼ yds. fabric (44" wide) (novelty texture cottons or any 2-sided fabrics work well)

2 pkg. double fold extra-wide bias tape (or 2/3 yard fabric for self bias)

9 buttons (9 extra if making jacket reversible)
